Edmonton Cycle Club
Holidays
and Weekend Breaks

Once or twice
a year, we go away for a few days on a bicycling break. Usually a weekend in a youth hostel is enjoyed and sometimes
we go a little further afield. In 2005 it was to France.
Youth Hostels,
we have found, are the ideal places to stay - we enjoy good food,
excellent company and it's good value too.
The trips
could be just to take in the local countryside (and hostelries!) or, as
in 2006, we combined it with a bit of culture - wine tasting.
Some of the
trips are more adventurous, cycling longer distances, while some are
shorter and more family friendly, getting nearer to the
destination with the help of trains, usually from Liverpool Street.
For 2008 there
are 2 trips planned -
Saturday 10th May - Monday 12th May 2008: A long weekend in
North Norfolk
2
nights and 3 days exploring North Norfolk from Kings Lynn down to
Norwich
Saturday 30th August - Monday 1st September:
Historic Saffron Walden
A harder
ride all the way there and back, or a softies ride taking the train! 2
nights at Saffron Walden.
You can
read about our holidays soon after on our 'ride reports' page.
